"Rasen Stainless LLP supplies stainless steel that conforms to the ordered specification in chemistry, mechanical properties, dimensions and finish, with documentation that allows every piece to be traced back to its mill and heat."
Each step is signed off before the next begins. The numbered sequence is the actual order in which material moves through our yard.
We buy only from mills and processors whose certificates we have cross-checked. New sources are qualified on a trial lot with independent lab testing.
MTC is checked for grade, heat number, standard edition, chemistry limits and mechanical values before the material is accepted into stock.
Every incoming lot is spot-checked with an XRF analyser. Nickel, chromium and molybdenum readings are compared to the certificate.
Random pieces are measured for OD, wall, thickness, flatness, bevel angle and face finish. Surface is inspected for pits, scratches, laps and weld defects.
Stencil or stamp on the product is matched against the MTC and the packing list, so the heat number on the pipe is the heat number on the paper.
Third-party or buyer's inspection if called for, then seaworthy packing with end caps, bundling straps, fumigated crates and export marking.
Testing is carried out at NABL-accredited laboratories in Mumbai or at the mill, and reports are attached to the shipping documents.
Spectro analysis for C, Cr, Ni, Mo, Mn, Si, P, S, N against ASTM limits.
UTS, 0.2% proof stress and elongation at room or elevated temperature.
Brinell, Rockwell or Vickers as per the ordered specification.
Pressure and non-destructive testing of pipes and tubes per ASTM A312 / A213.
Intergranular corrosion test per ASTM A262 for L-grades and stabilised grades.
Ultrasonic testing on plates and bars, radiography on welded fittings, dye penetrant on welds.
Stainless steel is easy to damage in transit and easy to lose in customs. Our packing and paperwork are designed for the sea route to the Gulf and Africa.
